No memorial service for the late Lulu Dikana

There will be no memorial service held anywhere for the urban soul singer Lulu Dikana, Sony Music Record confirmed today.

The 35 year old singer passed on December 3 in hospital after a short illness.

Unlike many celebrities who pass, and have a moment of being remembered by colleagues and friends, Dikana’s family has requested that no memorial service be held for the late singer.

A close source to the family said it was what Lulu wanted.

“The family did not want one, and as far as I understand it’s something the singer told them when she was alive.”

The older sister to musician and Ex Factor judge Zonke, will be laid to rest on Saturday 13 December 2014 in Bloemfontein at her maternal home which is also where Lulu Dikana’s mother and elder sister are buried.

It has been brought to the media’s attention that the Dikana’s have banned journalists and photographers from attending the funeral.

However friends and fans can pay their respects at the funeral service which will be held from 09:00AM at Tsoseletso High School Hall, DR DM Selemela Street, Bloemanda, Bloemfontein.

  • Dikana leaves behind her 15 year old teenage son and two sisters.
