MZANSI Magic yesterday confirmed comedian Tumi Morake as the new host of its hit reality show, Our Perfect Wedding, replacing singer Phumeza Mdabe.
Mdabe was at the helm of the third season, having replaced actress Brenda Ngxoli, who in turn took over from actress Thuli Thabethe.
Mdabe has lamented the strain the show had on her personal life and marriage due to a punishing shooting schedule.
Morake declined to confirm her new role when approached earlier this week, but in a statement from the broadcaster she spilt the beans. "I am thrilled to be hosting Season 4 of Our Perfect Wedding," she is quoted as saying. The comedian is married to actor and screenwriter Mpho Osei-Tutu.
"I've been with Mpho for over a decade and, aside from our own wedding, we have attended so many ceremonies of friends and families that I think I have a good feel for what it takes to create the perfect wedding, even under difficult circumstances."
Morake will bring out the lighter side in the already humorous show that gets South Africa talking on Sunday evenings.
The fourth season will premiere in January on Mzansi Magic.
