Generations actors have came out guns blazing saying that the shows producer Mfundi Vundla lied about their salaries.

The actors said that Vundla falsely escalated their salaries when he revealed to the media that they get, on average, R55 000  per month.

Mandla Gaduka, who plays Choppa on the soapie, said that SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng conceded Vundla did escalate the salaries but could not speak on his behalf as Vundla is not employed by the national broadcaster.

The Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa called a meeting in an attempt to intervene but the SABC officials arrived five hours late and the production company MMSV was a no-show.

Mthethwa wanted to give all the stakeholders a platform to sort out their issues but the no-show by the production company did not help the situation.

The actors have said that Vundla has now gone awol and has not corrected or apologised for his statements.
