'I got the been there, done it t-shirt’: Kuli Roberts

Radio and TV personality Kuli Roberts and partner Sylvester Sefotlhelo is the second couple to be eliminated on Wednesday's episode of Strictly Come Dancing on SABC3.

The axed dancers failed to impress the judges following the dreaded dance off against TV presenter Graeme Richards and Lindsey Muckle.

Last week we saw Kwaito star L’vovo and his partner get booted out on the show's 3rd dance session.

Speaking to Sowetan Live, Kuli Roberts says she wishes that she was the first to have been eliminated and for L’vovo to stay longer in the show.

“On the first night of elimination,  I cried when L’vovo left. He had more potential than me.

“I was upset at L’vovo’s partner, Mary, because she kept belittling him and even had the guts to speak badly about him on Selimathunzi. Who does that?

“L’vovo is a nice guy and he gave his best. People must understand my reason for crying last week,” she says.

Roberts praises her fellow celeb contestants and says she feels the judgement leading to her removal from the competition was fair.

She tweets a follower saying: “The rest of them are very good and I think it was fair! I loved doing it and am grateful.

“It’s been amazing to bond with the other celebs on a different level.

“They are nice people and have a chance to go far when it comes to dancing.”

Bubbly Roberts says she loved dressing up and putting on make up more than the dancing.

“I am going to miss being dolled up and dressing up for the show but I will not miss the grueling rehearsals of 5 hours a day.

“My body clock was damaged so I am glad to have my normal life back.

She says dancing was just a once off for her now that she got the 't-shirt'.

“This was a once off. I got the ‘been there, done it t-shirt’ so I am good. I am grateful for the experience."

Celebrities remaining in the dance show are:

  •  Lala Hirayama and Grant Esterhuizen
  • Jay Antsey and Tsholo Moholwane
  • Connie Ferguson and Brandon Eilers
  • Graeme Richards and Lindsey Muckle
  • Thapelo Mokoena and Hayley Bennet
  • Damon Kalvari and Hayley Hammond
  • Zakeeya Patel and Ryan Hammond
  • Mpho Popps and Nombulelo Hlathi
