FRIENDS of Metro FM's station manager Martin Vilakazi and Sthandwa Nzuza, the presenter of Ukhozi FM's weekend radio show Vul'isekele, say the couple are officially engaged.

The two radio personalities are said to have been engaged for a few months.

The couple, who have been discreet about their relationship, were first spotted in public together at this year's J&B Met in Cape Town in January. But they refused to pose for pictures together and denied their relationship.

But a source close to Nzuza says they have been engaged for a while.

"Nzuza is my home girl and I'm happy that she found love and perhaps marriage will follow soon after the engagement," says the source.

Another source who works with Nzuza says only a few people know about her engagement to Vilakazi.

When contacted for comment Vilakazi said: "I do know Sthandwa as I know many other radio personalities, but being a media practitioner doesn't mean I'm a celebrity.

"I don't want to comment on my personal life because I have no reason to be in the public platform. My work at the station takes priority," he said.

But a friend of Vilakazi confirmed that he is indeed engaged and that the challenge is that he is a shy guy, who respects his job.

Nzuza could not stop giggling when she spoke to Sowetan yesterday.

"I'm not engaged and I have never come forward about who I'm dating. I'm single. I'm not looking," she said.

Besides presenting her radio show Nzuza has had a cameo role on e.tv' s eKasi Stories drama series. - motaud@sowetan.co.za
