Festival to end on a jazzy note this week

ORGANISERS expect this weekend's third leg of the annual Marula Festival to be the most popular yet.

The jazz music extravaganza will take place in Phalaborwa from noon until midnight on Saturday.

In its seventh year, organisers decided to feature three music genres - kwaito, gospel and jazz.

Thousands attended the kwaito festival on March1 and the gospel festival the following day.

"I am expecting more people on Saturday since jazz has proven to be most popular," Ziyaphenduka Promotions festival organiser Bruce Kgapane said.

The event will feature popular band Stimela, musicians Caiphus Semenya and his wife Letta Mbuli, Ringo Madlingozi, Colbert Mukwevho, Joe Shirimani, Mooca and Basadi Women of Jazz.
