Lady Gaga buys 27 koi carp

Lady Gaga has purchased a 27 koi carp and installed a massive fish tank for them in her home to entertain her as she recovers from surgery on her hip.

The 'Edge of Glory' hitmaker - who is recuperating after a labral tear on her right hip forced her to cancel the rest of her 'Born This Way Ball' tour - has installed a massive fish tank in her home and imported the exotic fish from Japan to cheer her up.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Gaga said she'd had a dream about the fish so she had her team source some koi and set up a massive tank. The whole exercise cost over £40,000, which is a lot to most people but small change to her."

The 26-year-old singer has been ordered to have "strict downtime" after the emergency operation last month.

Gaga was left unable to walk as she tried to power through the injury and complete her world tour, but ultimately cancelled the US leg in order to seek medical treatment.

The 'Bad Romance' songstress previously admitted she hid her ailment from her staff in order to continue with the concerts and was "devastated" when she had to cancel the remaining dates.

She said: "I hid it from my staff. I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However, after last night's performance I could not walk and still can't.

"I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. I'm devastated & sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible. I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I'm sorry."
