Refreshing radio slot
COMEDIAN Felix Hlophe has now added radio presenter to his resume.
Hlophe now co-hosts commercial radio station Vuma FM's breakfast show, Vuma Kwasa, with actress Leleti Khumalo from 6am to 9am on Mondays to Fridays.
The radio station, which went on air on November 22, has attracted many positive reviews since its debut.
Pinetown listener Mduduzi Phungula, 18, says that he visited the station last Friday because he wanted to meet some of the deejays.
"I was so surprised to meet these two big stars, Hlophe and Khumalo. Both of them are so down-to-earth and they welcomed me with open arms.
"I just had to go to the station because from their first day of broadcasting, I liked the content of the show and their style of presenting the programme. For me this was really refreshing," Phungula says.
Hlophe says it is his first time anchoring a show, especially a major slot like the breakfast show.
"I am slowly coming out of my shell and am pleased that the fans like our work," Hlophe says.
Phungula says the chemistry between the two presenters is very visible and adds that the way they relate to each other shows that they are professionals.
Vuma FM chief operating officer Nolan Vernon says: "This is a sophisticated, positive, inspired, adult, contemporary music radiostation."
Phungula enjoys the topics discussed.
"As a Pinetown resident, this radio station, particularly the breakfast show, will have a positive impact in my life as well as that of my community. I am looking forward to having a fruitful relationship with thestation," Phungula says.
The station broadcasts to the greater Durban region and reaches areas beyond Pietermaritzburg, Greytown, Ballito and Scottburgh.- email@example.com
