Cuba Gooding Jr to get off

Bartender set to drop charges

The bartender who accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of assault is set to drop the charges.

The 'Jerry Maguire' actor allegedly shoved the female employee into a wall in New Orleans when she asked him to leave the premises after he became angry when patrons took his photograph and while an arrest warrant was filed, she is now planning to drop the charges.

Old Absinthe House spokeswoman Carolyn Pierce said: "It is our understanding the employee involved in the alleged altercation has chosen to drop all charges against Mr Cuba Gooding Jr. While we continue to investigate this matter internally, we are hopeful that this will put an end to the matter."

City spokesman Ryan Berni added: "The witness indeed has indicated that she is likely to drop the charges. If she does, and after prosecutors review the evidence, a determination will be made as to whether to dismiss the charges."

Cuba met with police this week (01.08.12) after an arrest warrant was issued for him but it has reportedly now been dismissed following the meeting.

His representative said: "There is no warrant. Mr Gooding, his representative and the New Orleans authorities met this morning and are moving swiftly to resolve this misunderstanding."
