LOCAL artists Mi Casa, Shoelace Rockazsoul and Bucie will share the stage with American counterparts Ludacris and Ne-Yo and Jamaican Shaggy at the Bayfest Music festival in Port Elizabeth next month.
Rukshana Abrahams of Zeranza SA, organisers of the festival, said the people of the Friendly City can expect a magnificent show.
"The show is scheduled to take place on June 2 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Given the artists that will be performing, people of this area can expect a truly wonderful show," Abrahams said.
Sama-winning act Mi Casa, Shoelace Rockasoul and Bucie are popular local acts that have not been seen in such a high level show in Eastern Cape.
Abrahams said it would not be the first time the trio performed in South Africa.
She said Shaggy, in particular, seems to have fallen in love with SA. She said Shaggy had also struck up friendships with local artists, and had been "especially tight with the late Lebo Mathosa".
Ludacris also performed at the 46664 concert in Johannesburg in 2007. Abrahams said the tickets will go on sale tomorrow. - Selebim@sowetan.co.za
