DJ's big day

DJ Khathide will say "I do" to his sweetheart, Nontobeko Khuzwayo, on Youth Day

WEDDING bells are ringing for another Ukhozi FM DJ.

Khathide "Tshatha" Ngobe, who co-hosts a traditional music programme called Sigiya ngengoma, and presenter of Roots, another traditional music show on SABC1, recently sent out wedding invitations to colleagues, friends and family.

Ngobe will say "I do" to his sweetheart, Nontobeko Khuzwayo, on Youth Day.

The wedding reception will be held at an exclusive Ballito hotel near Durban.

Celebrities, politicians, and various radio DJs are expected to attend Ngobe's white wedding.

Ngobe could not be reached for comment yesterday. But invitation cards state that the traditional umabo ceremony will be held at his home in KwaNongoma on Saturday.

Last week another Ukhozi FM DJ, Nonhlanhla Mroza Buthelezi, held a traditional umkhehlo ceremony, which is a ceremony held shortly before a woman gets married. Her wedding date has not yet been revealed.

Buthelezi is expected to marry top playwright Mbongeni Ngema soon in a wedding that is expected to be one of the weddings of the year.

Ngobe is one of the owners of Impucuzeko Skills and Training Development, which was established recently.

The company provides support and training to young up-and-coming musicians and actors. The firm has received millions of rand in funding from the National Lottery Distribution Fund.

Ngobe was once engaged to Mbali Shivambu, whom he had met as a "virgin" at a reed dance ceremony, but later parted and said "they were not meant for each other".
