IN 1961 Marvel Comics, under editor Stan Lee, published the Fantastic Four in a bid to create a more personable character base for a super hero. This is a hero that succumbed to many, if not all, of the ups and downs that average people had to go through.

Four astronauts are hit by space gamma rays and each finds he has received a special power. The story becomes interesting when the characters have to reintegrate themselves into society and use their new-found powers to aid their fellow human beings.
