Ringo, Tuku to wow Durbanites

AWARD-WINNING Zimbabwean guitarist-vocalist Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi and local muso Ringo Madlingozi are expected to wow Durban fans next Thursday.

The two will be performing at a concert to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence.

The respected musicians will be performing together for the first time in a concert at the Olive Convention Centre (Ice Rink).

The gig starts at 8pm.

The aim of the concert is also to promote unity and solidarity among South Africans and Zimbabweans living in the country.

Ringo had fans begging for more just two weeks ago when he shared the stage with Lira at the Durban International Convention Centre.

It is expected that fans will be delighted to see the two veterans performing the hit collaboration of Into yam.

They will both have their own full bands live on stage.

Mtukudzi's career spans more than three decades, with 15 albums which have earned him a number of awards including the Kora award for the Best Arrangement in 2003 and the National Arts Merit Award (NAMA) in 2002.
