Twasa too boring to enchant listeners

THERE is a handful of scenarios that make a sane person crack up rather heartily >>

One of them is a hard-hitting joke and another could be self-induced after indulging the international herb.

A friend once recommended Malawian dope. But when you are alone on national radio, and laugh all the time behind the mic, like Lesedi FM presenter DJ Twasa does on her evening show, it really boggles the mind.

It's either Twasa is losing it or she is just having too much whoopee alone in the studio - because I never get her jokes. Worse still, she talks to herself. There is no sidekick.

It would make sense if this happened when conversing with a caller but- no.

As they say, there are no secrets better kept than the secrets that everybody guesses. I just wish she could share them sometimes because she bores me to death.

That having been said, as presenter she sounds a bit mature on this slot, unlike on the Drive Show, where she sounds like some queer fish. The music is also mature and laid back, which is suitable for that time of the night.

Who would have guessed that Twasa would play an Andrea Boccelli's song. If you had been following her on the afternoon slot, you would understand.

And then there is the downside on her Tuesday show, where she engages guests and listeners on the subject of sex. Maybe I am being unfair because of her tiny body, but I have always viewed her as a teenager.

It could also be because of her reputation for forever hosting or presenting youth programmes that she behaves like a teenager.

If the station is planning on grooming her to be a talk-show host, that is a BAD idea.

And for her to be tackling sexual topics and engaging people like Pastor Khatide, who shot to fame because of his candid sermons on sex, just puts me off. Especially when she lets the pastor go on and on without engaging him.

That doesn't do it for me.

Just play the music and keep your topics light. That could be something.
