WHAT do you get when you pit a vocally serenading fox and an equally vocally aggressive songstress on stage?
And to add fuel to the fire, you then have a legendary balladeer on the same billing.
This question might just as well be answered on February 12 in what promises to be a jolting evening when songstress Judith Sephuma, love songs specialist and balladeer Ringo Madlingozi as well as legendary musician Babsy Mlangeni perform at Carnival City in what organisers say is a prelude to Valentine Celebration.
The organisers say the event will be used to unleash bimonthly editions on performances on the same venue. Eventually they say it will be staged in every four weeks.
The organisers couldn't have assembled a better team to launch the Valentine special edition of the event with Madlingozi, who is well-known for wowing the audience with his love songs and the sultry songstress Sephuma.
The anticipated duet is sure to bring the house down. And for good measure one of the musicians is expected to perform a song with the legendary Mlangeni although the organisers were not yet at liberty to divulge which of the artists.
It could well be Madlingozi whom Mlangeni once wrote a song for.
According to the organisers, featuring legendary artists on the night and other nights to follow is an attempt to bring back into the market celebrated singers from yesteryear. The same platform will also be afforded to up and coming musicians.
On a night when intimate companions will be celebrating love and affection, you can rely on Madlingozi to light up the house when he performs with a full band alongside Sephuma who will also be accompanied by her band.
This might well be an unforgettable night for the love birds that will grace the occasion. Doors open at 6pm and tickets are sold for between R200 and R250 at Computicket.
