Promoter Ralph has a third try at marriage

CUPID'S arrow has struck Ralph Zikalala's fragile heart again, effectively ending his days as a highly sought-after eligible bachelor.

The object of his affections and the woman who is ready to make an honest man out of him is Phumelele Twala.

Man about town Zikalala says he is hoping this time around it will be third time lucky for him when he walks his beautiful lover of 10 years down the aisle on Saturday.

"I guess this is the most important year of my life. We have lived together and it's time to make it official.

"I love Phumelele very much.

"She is the woman who put me together after my painful divorce from Zandi Nhlapo."

They were married for eight years.

His first wife, Martha Nkabinde, bore him four children. He has a six-year-old son with Phumelele.

"I know this time around it's for real. We have done everything according to the book. From the ilobola ritual, umbondo and ukwembesa on both families, we have done it all.

"I am a cultural person at heart and I believe that following all these rituals showers one with blessings."

An old hand at business, Zikalala celebrates 30 years of owning Club 707 Panyaza in Orlando. He has organised famous beauty pageants for Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Miss Premier League, Mr and Miss Soweto, Soweto Awards ,which honoured Nelson Mandela, as well as Miss Lovely Legs.
