Shibe is back via Scandal

FILM and television actor Siyabonga Shibe is back on the small screen. After working in the background producing a film and stage drama, Shibe has landed a role on e.tv's soapie Scandal.

From tomorrow Shibe will play Kila, a smart, shrewd and violent taxi driver.

Kila arrived in Johannesburg years ago and got a job as a taxi driver. A few years later he had saved enough to buy his own taxi.

Since Daniel Nyathi now lives in Hilbrow, Kila will befriend him.

Shibe was introduced to the local television viewers through Gazlam in 2002, playing the role of Sifiso. He played the character so well that he was awarded the best actor award in the Duku Duku Awards.

Hailing from Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal, Shibe studied drama at Natal Technikon, now known as Durban University of Technology. After graduating in 1999 he moved to Johannesburg and his first part was in the feature film The Stripes Of A Hero.

After Gaz'lam 1, he acted in the feature film James' Journey To Jerusalem for which he won a best male actor award.

He has produced a film, Machansa, and theatre drama, The Last Kick, that ran at Playhouse Theatre.
