Michael Jackson’s final resting place has been ‘vandalised’.

A group of fans of the late singer managed to obtain access to the Great Mausoleum at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The cemetery is now pledging to review security following incident.

A representative for the site told gossip website TMZ: "Activity such as this is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum".

The fans penned messages – including "Miss you sweet angel" and "Keep the dream alive" – in hard-to-spot areas outside the main window of the building where the late ‘Thriller’ star is entombed.

The wording was discovered tucked away under window ledges and areas of the wall hidden behind bushes, amongst other places.

Earlier this year, Michael’s brother Randy campaigned for fans to be allowed access to the cemetery, though officials refused to let the singer’s supporters inside the Great Mausoleum, which is also the final resting place of other showbiz legends, including Clark Gable and Jean Harlow.
