Jay-Z gives waiter a mega-generous tip

MMMM.... MUST HAVE BEEN A GOOD DATE: Jay-Z tipped a lucky waiter £100 - that's R1,150 - after a romantic dinner with wife Beyonce in London.

The superstar couple had enjoyed dinner at Scott's seafood restaurant in London and the generous 40-year-old rapper wanted to show his appreciation to the staff for providing him and his pop star spouse with a wonderful evening.

An onlooker told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Jay-Z certainly seemed to be inspired by the atmosphere and the sexy food because he looked like he couldn't wait to get Beyonce out of there and take her home. The waiters were pretty happy with their tip too."

Multi-millionaire Jay Z is not the only celebrity to show his generosity.

Actor Matt Damon thrilled restaurant staff in New York in March by leaving a $400 (R3,000) tip after a meal with friends and wife Luciana at New York nightspot Stanton Social.

And last year, Johnny Depp gave a staggering $4,000 (that's R30,000) gratuity at a Chicago eatery.

The 47-year-old actor was celebrating a red carpet screening of his movie 'Public Enemies' with a group of friends - including his co-star Marion Cotillard and the film's director Michael Mann - at Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse when he left the mammoth tip.

Then, last July, 'Robin Hood' star Russell Crowe shocked staff at a pub in Wales when he started singing Bryan Adams' hit 'Summer of '69' at the top of his voice, before leaving them a £600 tip (equal to about R7,000).
