American superstars Rihanna and Jay Z‚ who’s Roc Nation label Rihanna belongs to‚ are being sued by a Nigerian promoter for allegedly bunking a scheduled performance in Nigeria. But Jay’s people say the poor man might have been conned.

In his lawsuit filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court this week‚ promoter Chris Ubosi claimed that he had spoken to representatives of Rihanna to have her perform a show in Lagos‚ Nigeria in May 2013‚ reports TMZ.

Apparently the parties agreed that Rihanna would get $425‚000 to play a 65-minutes set and Chris had already paid three installments‚ totaling $160 000‚ when her people apparently called for the show to be postponed. Chris said that he had agreed on condition that Rihanna announce the postponement on her social media accounts.

She never did. The concert never happened. And an angry Chris is now seeking justice and his money back.

But according to her management‚ Chris is a victim of a scam.

“Rihanna‚ Roc Nation nor anyone associated personally or professionally with either party was in contact with this person. Unfortunately this person was scammed. Rihanna nor Roc Nation collected any money for this event‚” a Roc Nation representative told TMZ.
