A seismic event hit Blyvoor mine owned by DRD Gold mine in the Carletonville area this afternoon, NUM says
Preliminary information was that 5 miners were seriously injured.
"The National Union of Mineworkers has dispatched its safety team to the mine to investigate," NUM said in a statement.
The accident happened around 13H00 this afternoon.
