Putting people in the right jobs

ONE of the biggest problems facing business today is that workers are motivated by desperation not passion, says Molebogeng Rapetswa, a councillor at Khumalo Rapetswa Management Holdings.

Khumalo Rapetswa Management Holdings is a recruitment company based in Boksburg, Gauteng.

Rapetswa and Sbonelo Khumalo see themselves as social entrepreneurs.

The "Get Your Job" leg of the programme aims to help the individual to be self-aware before embarking on the journey to acquire a job that suits his-her personality and interest.

Out of the 30 people they currently assist they have found jobs for 20.

The programme consists of recruitment and training, social workers, psychologists and image consultants.

It is accredited to Thomas, an international psychological assessment process.

It caters for the unemployed, but it also recognises the plight of the employed who experience stagnance in their jobs.

Rapetswa said: "Simply placing an individual in a job will not help them construct a good work ethic, it's an attitude matter. Some individuals have problems from home that hinder their confidence and that is where we assist as well."

The 86percent accurate findings from the Thomas process detail how the characteristics of the individual translate into a particular job and is different from any other aptitude test.

"We monitor the growth of each individual even once we have found employment for them," she said.
