Andile Sidinile shifts focus to development while most promoters are waiting to hear how the SABC and provincial governments will roll out television dates.

Sidinile will stage a 10-bout tournament at Mdantsane Indoor Sports Centre on Sunday.

The Sijuta Promotions boss said he would introduce a number of former top-name amateur boxers into the professional ranks.

But topping his bill will be a 12-rounder for the vacant SA mini-flyweight belt between Siphamandla Baleni and Daluxolo Mangcotywa. Baleni, from Mthatha, is rated No 2 and he is promoted by Sijuta, while Mdantsane's fourth-ranked Mangcotywa is under promoter Ayanda Matiti of Xaba Promotions.

The title they will contest was vacated by Baleni's stablemate and Sidinile's charge, Simphiwe Khonco, who will challenge IBO and WBA reigning champion Hekkie Budler at Emperors Palace on September 19.

Sidinile said Sijuta ranked its fighters internally. "The model we have adopted is that boxers have to win fights to graduate to higher rankings, so Sijuta has the obligation to give all these fighters action," he said.

"The young guns - Baleni, Nhlanhla Ngamntwini and Mbulelo Nxazonke - and most of the new boxers will be in action on Sunday.

The international fighters, like Mzuvukile Magwaca and Luzuko Siyo, will be in action on July 31, and then there is the elite group of Simpiwe Vetyeka and Khonco."

Sidinile said he would introduce two multiple SA amateur champions - Xolisa Vukubi and Athi Mahajane, and Aaron Bushby.

He said Vukubi would take on Simbulele Petelo, while Mahajane would face Masixole Bazi.

Bushby will fight Lwazi Mvane.

Action will start at 2pm.
