Successful African business heavy weight billionaire Aliko Dangote has once again expressed his interest in buying Premier League giants Arsenal for a reasonable price.
According to goal.com, Dangote was quoted saying: "I still hope, one day at the right price, that I'll buy the team."
"We have $16 billion-worth of investments in the next few years. Right now I want to take my own business to a certain level. Once I finish on that trajectory, then maybe" an offer will follow," said Dangote.
In 2010 it was reported that Dangote planned to purchase a 16% stake from the club's fourth-largest investor, Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith.
However Dangote poured cold water on the rumours.
Since 1 July 2011, the majority shareholder in the club has been American Stan Kroenke, who holds 66.64% of the parent company. His rival, the Russian-Uzbek Alisher Usmanov, owns 29.11%.
Forbes magazine rated Nigerian born billionaire businessman Dangote magazine as the 67th richest person in the world and the richest in Africa.
