BAFANA Bafana captain Aaron "Mbazo" Mokoena has been singled out by Kaizer Motaung for being one of the greatest South African soccer exports.

Motaung was reacting to an article in Sowetan last week that Mokoena will have the Freedom of London bestowed on him by The Lord Mayor Boris Johnson, on November 10.

"I would like to join my fellow South Africans in congratulating Aaron Mokoena for being honoured with the Freedom of London," said Motaung.

"I believe it is a good thing to follow the successes of the likes of Dr. Steve 'Kalamazoo' Mokone, a legend that represented the apartheid-oppressed talent of South African football abroad.

"We must also not forget the towering Lucas Radebe who carved a name for himself in the City of Leeds when he played there.

"There have been a lot of South African exports to other countries and one can only marvel at how they set up new arrivals to fly our country's flag.

"Aaron Mokoena's achievement has therefore crowned a successful career in the tough English football fraternity and is worthy of receiving our fullest respect.

"I just hope other youngsters will emulate such heroic feats that demonstrate the quality of our exports that have raised the standard of our football abroad."

Mokoena said: 'I'm humbled by the support from Ntate Motaung and the rest of South Africans.

"The feedback has been overwhelming."

The Mayor of London says he is impressed by the job done by Mokoena through his foundation, which is helping to improve the lives of ordinary people in South Africa and England.
