After a rare 2-1 midweek victory over Maritzburg United, Golden Arrows' publicist Zwe Mzolo is convinced they have laid a solid foundation to return to winning ways.

Abafana Bes'thende are fired up to make it two in a row at the expense of Jomo Cosmos when they meet in a Castle Premiership match at Katlehong Stadium on Sunday (3.45pm).

"We needed Wednesday's victory to bring back the confidence in the team. You end up losing confidence if you lose one game after another," said Mzolo.

"The spirits are high in the camp, we are more than prepared for the match. It will be a tough one because are fresh from a defeat [0-1 by Benoni Premier United].

"We have raised the hopes of our supporters after a win over United, the plan is to continue with our winning streak."

But Cosmos' attacking midfielder Bamuza Sono has warned Arrows not to expect even a single point from them.

"It will be a hard one but we are ready to sent Arrows back home empty-handed. We have been playing well but luck has deserted us upfront," he said.

"We should have defeated Benoni Premier United 10-1 on Wednesday. We are working hard at training to perfect our finishing.

"Our supporters will see a more improved Cosmos upfront on Sunday," said Sono, who was supported by team manager Andrew Rabutla.

"Anybody who watched our game against Benoni Premier United will agree that we should have won with an avalanche of goals," said Rabutla.

"There is no need to panic, we are playing well. It's a matter of starting to bang the goals in."

The spotlight in this game will be on the two sides' chief strikers - Chris Katongo of Cosmos and Alton Meiring of Arrows.
