Traffic backed up after multiple vehicle pile-up in Auckland Park

Traffic was “heavily affected” after a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of Barry Hertzog Avenue and Empire Road in Auckland Park‚ Johannesburg‚ on Tuesday morning.

ER24 said its paramedics‚ “along with other services‚ arrived on the scene to find a wrecked taxi lying on its side amongst three other vehicles”.

“Several patients were found walking around on the scene‚” said spokesperson Russel Meiring.

“Paramedics began assessing the patients while local authorities began closing off a number of the lanes for safety.”

Nine people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and they were taken to various hospitals. – TMG Digital
