HERITAGE Day celebrations kicked off at the weekend with the National Heritage Council holding an awards ceremony at the Birchwood Hotel, where cultural activists, artists and intellectuals were honoured. King Zwelithini celebrated King Shaka Day on Sunday at George Goch Stadium with a feast of cultural activities, while President Jacob Zuma commemorated Alexandra's 100 years at the local stadium.
