A suspected rapist was stoned to death in Lethabile, North West.
The 27-year-old man had apparently tried to rape the 19-year-old girl on Monday morning, Captain Adele Myburgh said in a statement.
Local residents went looking for him and a group of about 150 attacked him.
“The victim was stoned and assaulted until he died. [His] body was discovered by police and the scene was cordoned off with the help of the public order police unit.”
No arrests had been made.
