More than 40 people were arrested for driving in the emergency lane on Beyers Naude Drive in Johannesburg today
Most of those arrested were taxi drivers, but there were some private car owners, department spokeswoman Busaphi Nxumalo said.
They were arrested for reckless driving and taken to the Honeydew police station.
