ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is being treated at Milpark Hospital for an existing diabetes condition, her daughter Zindzi said in a statement on Friday.
Madikizela-Mandela was meant to attend a meeting with residents of the Moqhaka municipality in the Free State yesterday, but did not arrive. Officials attributed this to ill-health.
In September, Madikizela-Mandela underwent 'a minor foot operation' at the Life Brenthurst Clinic in Johannesburg.
