TWO people were stabbed to death and two others killed in road accidents in Butterworth at the weekend, Eastern Cape police said yesterday.

On Christmas Eve an 80-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her hut, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The motive for the crime was unknown and no one was arrested.

A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death on Sunday.

A witness told police the killer was seen boarding a taxi to flee the crime scene.

Two counts of culpable homicide were being investigated by Butterworth police after an 18-year-old and a 25-year-old were killed in separate road accidents on Christmas Day.
