BEIJING - Floods triggered by torrential rains in a remote part of north-western China have killed 25 people, local authorities said yesterday.

Heavy rains and hail storms have hit parts of Qinghai province over the past few days, damaging more than 6300 houses, the provincial civil affairs department said.

The disaster comes just months after a 6.9-magnitude quake struck the province on April 14, killing about 2700 people and flattening thousands of homes in a remote Tibetan area. - Sapa-AFP
