I THINK it is high time that we stop referring to ourselves as white South Africans, Indian South Africans, black South Africans etc.
The majority of our people hated the apartheid state for segregating us on the basis of colour, which is why the majority fought that abominable political system.
But we are still separated after 16 years of democracy. Yes, we have diverse cultures, religions, languages etc, but we are all South Africans and our diversity should unite us to be one people.
Classic examples are Cuba and Brazil, where there are indigenous Indians, African slaves, Spanish etc , but you never hear of African Brazilians or Spanish Cubans , only of Brazilians and Cubans.
