PEOPLE who cannot walk or can only walk with difficulty, can use a special World Cup shuttle at Cape Town Stadium, the city said yesterday.

Though the normal shuttle transport to the stadium was wheelchair-friendly, spectators using it will still have to negotiate a distance of 500m, or navigate a ramp to enter the stadium at the second-floor level.

The special needs shuttle will be available only to spectators with a wheelchair match ticket, or those with a doctor's certificate confirming their inability to walk 500m. Spectators should call 0800-600-895, mornings only, a week before the match they are due to attend, to book places on the shuttle. - Sapa
