A 26-YEAR-OLD man from KwaZulu-Natal was on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old girl, police said yesterday.
Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said: "Qhamfu Kubheka was found guilty (by the Nongoma regional court) of raping a 10-year-old girl in December 2008 in Musa area, Nongoma."
Mdunge said Kubheka had asked the girl to accompany him somewhere, but instead he took her to an abandoned house and raped her repeatedly.
Kubheka also kidnapped the girl and kept her captive for the whole night.
He was arrested hours after releasing the girl the following day. - Sapa
