ALL the trucks found dumped in the bushes in the Nkomazi region near the Mozambican border have been claimed by their owners.

The owners claimed the trucks after Sowetan reported last Wednesday that several trucks had been found by the police in the bushes on the road to the border.

Tonga police spokesperson Sergeant Mzwandile Nyambi said the last truck was collected on Saturday.

Nyambi said the owners were delighted that their trucks were still in a good condition.

"I confirm that all the trucks that we recovered have been returned to their rightful owners. Our police officers will make sure that they patrol the Tonga area in order to stop the stealing and smuggling of vehicles into Mozambique," Nyambi said.

"These hooligans are using the dusty roads, to the border fence."

Previous reports had shown that Mozambique was a preferred route for smuggled goods that ended up in other African countries.
