The Argentine television station TN said 49-year-old Maradona had surgery yesterday to repair an injury to his upper lip after he was bitten.
He was expected to be discharged later in the day.
Argentine news reports said Maradona was playing with a dog when he was bitten at his home on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. - Sapa-AP
