BRAVO! Ole! Congratulations to SuperSport United for winning the league for the third time. They have shown consistency and, of course, had luck.

But it is lamentable that they can hardly fill a small stadium like Super Stadium. They lack the football glamour and spark of the old Pretoria Bantu Callies that filled that stadium every weekend.

They lack demigods such as bow-legged Mecro "Masterpieces" Moripe, reliable George "Mastermind" Kgobe, hard-running Andries "Panyaza" Chitja and Rabbie Moripe's devastating dribbling, to mention just a few.

They had the creative and dribbling Teko Modise but Gavin Hunt did not like his style of football, so Orlando Pirates snapped him up.

People around Pretoria know artistic and entertaining footballers, not the dour football dished out by SuperSport United. Their chairman, Khulu Sibiya, is having a pipe dream if he thinks the kind of football dished out by Hunt can defeat Africa and the world.

Unless he thinks their run-around and skop and hardloop football is sufficient as long as it brings in cash.

Sibiya was a footballer himself and can vouch that this football is a complete bastardisation of South African football. You cannot defeat the world if you do not have a particular style. Football is an art that should entertaining too.

Their neighbours, Mamelodi Sundowns, filled the stadiums with their "shoeshine and piano" style and entertained fans. There is no entertainment from SuperSport United, hence the empty stadiums. They can win the league a thousand times i but most fans won't follow their style of football.
