KWAITO star Mandoza, pictured, was questioned by police yesterday about the ownership of a crashed Mini Cooper.

His questioning came after the arrest of Nkululeko Bobo Mncube and seven others on charges of fraud. One of them, Mzwandile Sibanda, is Mandoza's neighbour.

Mncube told police he was the owner of the car Mandoza was in after a crash almost two weeks ago in Weltevreden Park on the West Rand.

The eight suspects are alleged to be part of a fraud syndicate that buys cars and houses using stolen identity documents.

It has since emerged that the Mini Cooper was registered in the name of a person who lives in Venda, Limpopo.

Hawks spokesperson Musa Zondi said yesterday: "We questioned Mandoza to establish whether he has any knowledge of the car. We were satisfied with his statement. He has made certain undertakings to help the police with any information about the case.

"We are satisfied with his statement in as far as the ownership of the car or his supposed involvement in it is concerned."
