THE Tshwane Sports Council has dismissed a report that it is trying to change the Blue Bulls' colours.

This after it was reported that the newly formed council wanted to change the Super 14 champions' colours to white, black, yellow and green. Council chairperson Bismarck Mosuoe scoffed at the suggestion and shed some light on the matter yesterday.

"The Bulls are a registered company and we cannot change their colours. What we are saying is that if a Tshwane team is selected from the Bulls' development side, we must have a uniform that will distinguish it," he said.

"We were only making a suggestion and people are turning this into a political matter. We are not affiliated to any political party.

"I have spoken to the Bulls president, Boet Fick, and he understood our position.

"When the Bulls play federation matches they will use their normal colours and our proposal is that for council games they will use colours that represent the council."
