THE National Association of People Living with HIV and Aids (Napwa) members who went to Jozini yesterday to support a worker suspended for refusing to take an HIV test are disappointed.

This stems from the "arrogant manner" in which they believe they weretreated by the owners of Esikhotheni Lodge.

Sbongokuhle Nkosi was suspended for "lack of respect" and "refusing to work overtime".

But Nkosi says the suspension was over refusing to take an HIV test, which all employees were subjected to. This was confirmed by other employees.

Napwa's Slungile Mtambo said the "neutral" hearing chairperson had not allowed Nkosi to be represented by the person of her choice, despite this having been stated in writing.

The hearing was postponed to a new date.

Mtambo said the supervisor had left SA since Sowetan's article last week.

Nkosi said management had realised they were wrong but "they don't want to apologise."
