A BOSS of a security firm, contracted to Sun City International Hotel and Casino near Rustenburg in North West, has been arrested for allegedly insulting former president Nelson Mandela at the weekend.
Benjamin Burger, 46, the main shareholder in the Falcon Security Company, was arrested and charged with crimean injuria on Saturday shortly after he allegedly called Mandela a "kaffir" during the singing of the national anthem.
About two years ago, Burger was also reported to have called his employees "kaffirs" and that resulted in a protracted strike by the workers.
The weekend incident took place at a potjiekos competition by his workers as part of a team building exercise.
Burger is out on R1 500 bail.
The case was postponed to December 11 and was referred to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for a decision to prosecute . - Mckeed Kotlolo
