THE Ukhozi FM breakfast show Vuka Mzansi , presented by Linda "Mr Magic" Sibiya and Nongcebo McKenzie, tops the charts as the most listened to show.

The breakfast show boasts a daily listenership of 2 353 000, according to the latest Radio Audience Measurement Survey.

The station's other crowd-puller is the traditional music show, Sgiya Ngengoma, which has struck it lucky twice in a row.

Last month show presenters Ngizwenkosi Mchunu and Khathide Ngobe scooped R100000 at the Samtas when they were voted the Best Traditional Music DJs and Best Traditional Radio Show.

The team presents the show every Saturday until midday. It has a listenership of 2,1 million, behind Vuka Mzansi.

Programme manager Bheki Msane said the station was setting the trend by showing that listenership can be both maintained and grown with the right content delivery.

"Being the number one station Ukhozi FM has done itself proud by keeping its listenership and gaining more in Gauteng," Msane said.

In third place is Johannesburg-based drive-time show Sekunjalo the Xclusive afternoon drive show co-hosted by Sipho "DJ Sgqemeza" Mbatha and Nonhlanhla "Mroza" Buthelezi.
