Tim Williams has resigned as National Deputy police Commissioner.
Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa announced that Williams had tendered his resignation at the National Press Club in Pretoria yesterday.
W illiams was appointed to the post on M arch 1 2000. H e was responsible for crime intelligence and detection.
He has worked under four safety and security ministers including Mthethwa.
Bheki Cele's spokesperson Nonkululeko Mbatha said she did not know why Williams resigned.
