The province has received a R19million incentive grant from the government for exceeding a job creationtarget of 25000 in the infrastructure sector.
It is the first province to receive such a grant. Its department of transport received special mention for creating job opportunities through programmes such as Vukuzakhe and Vukuzenzele.
