A STUDENT constable bust while taking a bribe shot and wounded a member of the organised crime unit in Kempton Park on Saturday.

Police say the two had just received the bribe at about 1pm when the team pounced on them.

"We would like to thank the anonymous caller who alerted the police about this unnecessary misconduct," said national police spokesman Captain Julia Claassen.

The two Kempton Park officers were arrested and are expected to appear in the Kempton Park magistrate's court today.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and two others are recovering in hospital after they were shot by trigger-happy armed robbers at a shebeen in Olievenhoutbosch informal settlement, south of Pretoria, about 1am yesterday.

They were both taken to Tembisa Hospital.
