A RING of steel has been thrown around the Ellis Park Stadium, the venue for the Confederations Cup opening ceremony on Sunday.

As part of the ceremony, Bafana Bafana take on Iraq in what is expected to be an exciting start of the "Festival of Champions".

There will be tight security inside and outside the stadium.

Ellis Park's venue spokesperson Molefi Mika has warned fans without valid tickets for the game not to bother going to the upgraded Doornfontein stadium.

He added fans must drive to Nasrec Exhibition Centre near Soccer City, using gate five and six, for park and ride facilities to bring them to the stadium.
