THREE men appeared in the Hillbrow magistrate's court in connection with the unlawful possession of firearms, Johannesburg police said.
The three were remanded in custody yesterday and will appear in court again next Tuesday for a bail application.
Two of the men, aged 22 and 23, were searched at the corner of Esselen and Claim streets on Saturday by the Johannesburg Dog Unit.
An unlicensed Waffenfabrik 4.5mm pistol was found with its serial numbers filed off.
Another man, aged 28, was also arrested on Saturday around 8pm while police were conducting random searches in Twist and Bok streets near Joubert Park.
Police were investigating if the man was wanted for other crimes. - Sapa
