Police spokesman Constable Edwin Ntsheo said yesterday the girl was raped on Friday night after an argument between the youths and her boyfriend over her.
Ntsheo said an elderly man eventually stopped the fight but the three youths took the girl away.
They took her to a shack and gang-raped her. Afterwards, they took her cellphone.
"They said if the girl spoke of her ordeal they would kill her in front of her teachers at school," Ntsheo said.
The trio, aged 16, 18 and 19, are expected to appear in the Sebokeng magistrate's court today. - Sapa
